Travesía musical premiers today at the Cecut

Legendary Tijuana rocker Javier Batiz is the main narrator in Spanish of Travesía Musical, a documentary film premiered at the Domo IMAX of the Centro Cultural Tijuana on March 1 at 8 pm.

In this musical tour, Bátiz recounts the journeys of singer and composer Aloe Blacc, who traces the roots of American music and follows Louis Armstrong's footsteps, through the stages and cultures where American music was born, visiting iconic musical cities such as New Orleans, Chicago, New York, Nashville, Memphis, and Miami, among many others.

It is a film that explores the syncretism of cultures that gave rise to musical expressions such as jazz, blues, country, rock and roll, hip hop, said Edgar Rodriguez, manager of Audiovisual Media at Centro Cultural Tijuana.

He pointed out that Travesía musical is a documentary film distributed by MacGillivray Freeman Films in the United States, one of the most important distributors of large format films worldwide. The premiere was on February 15 at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, and the following day at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

Bátiz, 73, and who is currently in search of progressive jazz within rock, was contacted by Pedro Ochoa Palacio, director of the Centro Cultural Tijuana, to join another dubbing project of IMAX productions in which the Cecut has opened an important path, said the manager of Audiovisual Media.

The Cecut has become a spearhead in the dubbing of IMAX productions through the thematic projections of science, technology, history, nature and now musical, where Javier Batiz joins the participants who have performed dubbing in this venue as Damien Alcázar, Daniel Giménez Cacho, Bruno Bichir, Mario Ivan Martinez and the actress Arcelia Ramirez.

At the end of the premiere performance, Javier Batiz will perform Louis Armstrong's iconic song What a wonderful world. As of March 1, the film will remain on display for a period of six months.

The costs at Domo IMAX are $52.00 m. n., general admission; $31.00 m. n., children; $33.00 m. n., teachers, students, INAPAM, agreements with valid credential and card of the Sé Turista program in Baja California.

Every Wednesday the general admission is $33.00 pesos, the showings before 2pm on weekends have a general cost of $22.00 pesos. The military, police and firefighters with credential and their families pay only $11.00 per person.
