The program is made up of five Colombian films, five more from Costa Rica, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina, as well as eight Mexican films. "Almost all the films will go with their filmmakers, who will be in questions and answers sessions with the public and will be taking part in talks and roundtables about Latin American cinematography”.

The FICD program has included a selection of short films, some of them produced by the Imcine as 3 variations of Ofelia by Paulo Riqué, Gloria by Luis Hernández de la Peña, and Boy at the bar masturbates himself with rage and daring by Julian Hernández. Also, from the Center of Cinematographic Training (CCC) there will be productions, like Do not pass by San Bernardino by Hugo Magaña.

Rendón said that this year in particular, the trend in programming will be very focused to take a look at the reality, both rural and urban, of Latin American peoples.

In that sense, the coordinator pointed out that the festival follows the line with which it was born, presenting productions that invite to the criticism and reflection, at the same time that the new  sonorenses talents are promoted, giving voice to the Latin American cinema that rarely has the opportunity to be presented in commercial theaters.

He also emphasized that this film meeting has given Sonora an important space for the training of young filmmakers and audiences in a city where there are few non commercial film offers.

"Sonora does not have a film school, yet we are an example at a national level in terms of film training programs such as workshops, courses and graduates, where both fiction and documentary feature films have emerged that have been at festivals around the world”.

The public will be able to see fiction and documentary short films that every year enter to contest for its exhibition in the event; in addition, the best script winner is rewarded.

The projections will be presented outdoors, at the Museo de Arte de la Cultura, Teatro de la Ciudad de la Casa de la Cultura and at a penitentiary center for young people.
