The Centro de la Imagen prepares the 2nd PHOTOMEXICO edition

FOTOMÉXICO. International Festival of Photography has become a meeting point between specialists and amateurs of the image, where not only the public can see photography, but also can think, debate and dialogue regarding it.

In its second edition, LATITUDES will seek to explore the geographical, anthropological and disciplinary plurality of the current photographic production, reflected in the work of artists and creators from around the world.

In this way, a test of the best national and international photographic production can be seen in Mexico through a rich program of activities that includes exhibitions, round tables, workshops and talks in the main cultural venues, museums and galleries of the country.

The main places where you can enjoy the works are: the National Museum of Anthropology with the exhibition Pierre Verger Mexico. Con los pies en la tierra (With the feet on the ground); the Museum of Modern Art with a review of Pedro Slim’s photographic collection; the Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo with the presentation of the most extensive an important collections in Latin America that belong to the collector and the founder of the Image Center of Lima, Juan Mulder.

 Outside the capital, Artur Walther’s photographic collection, Events Of the Self will be presented for the first time in Mexico at the Museo Amparo of Puebla.

In this context, two calls are currently open: FOTOMÉXICO Network, a platform to publicize photographic projects as part of the International Festival of Photography.

The second one is the Seminar on Photographic Production (SPF, for its acronym in Spanish), a training program for photographers and visual artists. A space for creation and experimentation around the current problems of visual culture.
